Full-time ACCOUNTING OFFICER

We are an international company, amongst the leading marine fuels suppliers in the eastern Mediterranean, with offices in Cyprus, Greece, Ukraine and Romania.
Due to the continued expansion of our Group’s activities, we are looking to recruit a high calibre individual in our Constanta office, for the following position:

ACCOUNTING OFFICER

Working under the direct supervision of the Group’s accounting headquarters in Cyprus, the Accounting Officer will be responsible for maintaining proper accounts for the Group’s Romanian subsidiary in accordance and in full compliance with applicable Romanian laws and regulations including filing of monthly, quarterly and annual returns, preparation of payroll and VAT returns, issuing of invoices, liaising with suppliers and maintaining bank and cash accounts. Equally importantly, the Accounting Officer will be responsible for reporting on a daily basis all accounting transactions posted and documents received to the Group’s accounting HQ where “mirror” accounts are maintained.

The ability to communicate effectively in English and the willingness to follow and comply with Group accounting and quality standards and procedures is essential. Previous experience in working for an international Group will be considered an advantage.

The position requires a methodical approach, experience and ability in dealing with all aspects of accounting and reporting as well as a proven record in reporting and meeting deadlines.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications skills and experience:
• Excellent command of English and Romanian languages.
• University degree in Accounting or diploma in an international accounting professional qualification.
• License to maintain and submit accounts in accordance with Romanian Law (if required).
• Excellent knowledge and experience of accounting and bookkeeping in accordance with Romanian and International Generally Accepted Accounting Practice.
• Experience in preparation and submission of payroll, VAT and income tax returns.
• Experience in issuing invoices, bank and cash maintenance and reconciliations.
• Good level of knowledge of Excel & excellent computer skills.
• Knowledge of accounting terminology in English.
• Relevant experience of at least 3 years.
